What will you do with your life today? tomorrow? This is not a one-time answer, but certainly every teenager is facing some immediate decisions that will affect years. Terry Jones was not a stranger to church. He just never really became acquainted with Jesus Christ until he was enrolled in the university. The impact of Campus Crusade was life-changing.
Following God is never boring! Travel from England to Calcutta, India, in a land rover in the 1960s would be an adventure worthy of review. It's encouraging to vicariously participate in God's work in far-away places. Success is certain, but not always recognized.
This book is all about a relationship, a dynamic friendship with Creator God and the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no religion here. There are no spooky, Hollywood-type special effects or flowery histrionics. Following the Lord and being committed to the Kingdom of God on Earth as it is in heaven is not an imaginary mind game. The Word of God is an amazingly practical Book. It works. This is summoning younger generations to experience the extreme adventure. It is a challenge to actually do something incredibly real and ultimately satisfying. Daring! Author, Terry Jones is another example of someone going short-term into missions and staying for life.
Classes in evangelism will profit from reading this autobiography and practicing some of the lessons Terry learned.

Much has been said about the innkeeper in Bethlehem. Have you ever thought of the impact the night might have had on his family? Ken Anderson has taken this familiar story and reanalyzed the well known parable and offers an interesting twist to the ever so familiar story in The Innkeeper’s Son.
Mr. Anderson tells the story of Bal Nahor, owner of an inn in Bethlehem, his wife Atarah, and their young son, Elysmus. Rather than sleep in the stable with the animals as his father suggests, Elysmus decides to take his mother’s advice to go and find the rabbi teacher. He is attracted to a strange bright star which seems to be coming from the stable on his father’s property. He hopes to share his excitement with his rabbi. Elysmus dodges danger in the motley crowd of party goers gathered in the town at the late night hour. What is so strange to Elysmus is that the townspeople think he is crazy when he speaks of the bright star he sees in the sky announcing the birth of the Messiah.
A delightful read for the whole family during the Christmas season.

Ignorance is never an excuse. Our lack of knowledge of the fastest growing religion in the world can prove to be a tragedy. The admonition to 'have a reason for the hope that is within you' has never been more needed. The current trend of tolerance - even the defense and acceptance - of other faiths as alternate routes to heaven is a slippery road. M.A. Raj has written a warning in language teenagers can understand.
A revealing difference between Christianity and Islam is the intrinsic difference between faith and submission. M.A. Raj presents the complex roots and consequences of these ancient differences as they are now affecting modern society. Pastor Raj is enabled to open new windows of understanding of Islam’s Conflict with the West because he was born and raised in Kuwait. He grew up within the historical backdrop of Islam’s conflict with Christianity, and he believes at this point in world history it is critical to understand the difference between Muslims and Islamists.
With Israel once again a major player in the Middle East, the ancient cultures around her are once again increasing their resolve. What we are now witnessing is not a new phenomenon driven by a few thousand straggly radicals, but a 1375 year old culture war. The battlegrounds are in cities and lands where they have never been before. The battle for the hearts and souls of mankind has never been more intense. We need to be informed of this historic conflict.
Excellent resource for a class in comparative religions.

Coming of age amid the poverty and bigotry of Depression-era Appalachia, six young friends learn about love, loyalty, and courage. Readers will thrill to experience the strength and intensity of Frankie, a young girl who has faced loss but never defeat. Richly drawn characters include Frankie’s younger brother, Jimmy, their two cousins, two neighboring friends, and of course, Titus, the massive bull who helps bring an ancient Minoan legend to life.
Themes from classic literature, ancient Greek mythology, and the poetry of Emily Dickinson are masterfully entwined with the gritty realities of rural life. Compelling imagery and evocative narrative will embrace discriminating readers and draw them into this circle of relationships. The Myth of the Summer Moon is a book to be savored. Teens who finish it will probably read it more than once. . . . This book is designed for the youth, but any reader will enjoy this one. Once you start reading this book, you will find it difficult to stop. Once you have finished reading the book, the characters will remain with you forever. Angels, adultery, and bible passages - It sounds like a Sunday sermon, but it’s the story of a Caribbean adventure that brings a new faith amidst a life of heartache, a sense of direction out of utter chaos, and a great hope from a once bleak future. It all begins with a Caribbean Cruise…..
From a story that would rip apart most marriages comes a new beginning, a new belief, and a new family. I highly recommend this light read to any reader who enjoys a good book with spiritual ties. Goddard writes a message that could have been ripped from the headlines of today’s newspaper, or used as the next Sunday sermon. Either way, it is definitely a message worth sharing with others.
Add this to your reading list for the class in novels. Clint Goddard is president of North Haitian Missions. He knows Haiti and human nature. Sociology classes will enjoy this easy read of a family trauma.
