We specialize in books for tweeners, the 8-12-year-olds.
Our niche is publishing books that boys in third grade and up want to read. (Girls like them too!)
In 2003 we recognized the problem of aliteracy and began publishing Tweener Adventure books that appeal to those students who would rather do something else instead of reading.
Teachers have done an outstanding job of teaching kids to read, but they desperately need help with the increasing number of aliterates in the classroom.

“The goal is not to teach boys to read but to teach boys to read voluntarily on their own,” are the words of Andy Sherrod, a member of Tweener Ministries Board. As manager of a 500 acre pecan operation in Texas, he knows the importance of reading in our culture as well as in the world of work.
Pleasure reading is almost non-existent for the majority of boys as they become emerging readers. Many of them can read, but they just don’t want to. They are trapped in aliteracy, and without intervention they are on the slippery slope toward functional illiteracy. Unfortunately many of the reading textbooks and chapter books (library books) used in school do not seem relevant for boys 8-12.
That's why Dr. Marvin G. Baker developed Tweener Time Mentoring, a program for parents, teachers, and mentors to help students discover the joy of reading. SEE: Mentoring
Now we have the privilege of introducing the 2007 Tweener Time Championship Series, Books by Teens for Tweens. This unique series is comprised of six books written by high school students. The winners were chosen by the 100 judges for the Tweener Time International Chapter Book and Cover Art Competitions sponsored by Tweener Ministries, Inc. Baker Trittin Press, along with Bethel College, Anderson University, Joshua Expeditions, Gaither Charitable Foundation, and i-design, is a co-sponsor of this annual event.
